Also, as you might imagine, Acer told me that even though they support Windows 7 Ultimate and the downloaded driver should work, that because I’ve changed the operating system they won’t provide support and the product will be out of warranty.

Acer wireless driver I just bought a new Acer laptop and scrubbed the hard drive and installed my own Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit software original CD’s. Also tried installing win7 drivers and many other that i digged up but none of them worked.

I’ve read many threads about Acer laptops, but I couldn’t turn on my Wi-Fi adaptor. Windows 8 64 bit PRO. Yes, I can hardwire my laptop to get internet access, and have done both a windows and driver update, no help.

The time now is Acer has been less than no help – basically saying their laptop doesn’t support Windows 7 Ultimate As Window7 is Windows 7 as far as drivers go, sounds like the person you were talking to got their training at the Geek Squad. I don’t understand why Acer recommends not to change the default OS when you should be able to upgrade ur machine to whatever u want because u paid for it and it should work fine because its in the stores.


Might want to give that one a try when you get home.
